Tuskegee man charged with receiving stolen property

On March 18, 2025, Auburn Police arrested Michael Cortez Brown, age 58, from Tuskegee, Alabama, on a felony warrant charging him with receiving stolen property first degree.
The arrest stems from Auburn Police locating a stolen vehicle parked near the 1700 block of South College Street. Police made contact with the single occupant of the vehicle and identified him as Michael Cortez Brown.
The vehicle was confirmed to be stolen from another police jurisdiction, and after further investigation, Brown was arrested for receiving stolen property first degree. Narcotics contraband was also recovered and Brown was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Brown was transported to the Lee County Jail and held on a $6,000 bond.
All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
